Ortho® Workstation Earns AABB Quality Seal

QuidelOrtho Corporation (NASDAQ: QDEL) (“QuidelOrtho”) announced today that its subsidiary, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a leading provider of in vitro diagnostics solutions and services to hospitals, clinical laboratories and blood banks around the world, has achieved the AABB “Standards-Compliant” designation Quality Seal for its ORTHO Workstation. It is the first product of its kind that has been awarded this designation by AABB’s Standards-Compliant Product Program, indicating that the ORTHO Workstation meets AABB standards in terms of product quality and service.
Built around proven column agglutination technology, the ORTHO Workstation is a 2-in-1 blood testing system, combining a centrifuge and incubator in a footprint of about two square feet. The ORTHO Workstation works with the ORTHO OPTIX™ Reader and creates precision and accuracy that are critical in labs of every size. The ORTHO Workstation is simple to operate, with language-neutral icons and enhanced alarm systems.
In today’s lab environment, staff are being asked to do more, often with the same or fewer resources. ORTHO Workstation makes it easier to work error-free, thanks to features such as incubator temperature monitoring (with visual indicator), a unique beeping pattern to indicate cycle completion and error code intelligence for troubleshooting.

AABB’s Standards-Compliant Product Program benefits both vendors and customers by offering assurance that products for the blood and biotherapies community are in compliance with AABB Standards.
Products that achieve AABB’s Standards-Compliant Product recognition have been thoroughly reviewed by AABB and have been confirmed as adhering to the AABB Standards that relate to equipment, process control and document control.
Vendors of laboratory equipment and supplies are invited to apply to the AABB Standards-Compliant Product Program by submitting relevant information about their products to AABB for review.
