In her role as Director of the Blood Bank and Transfusion Medicine Service at the Bellevue Hospital Center, Dr. Jessica L. Jacobson is directly involved in implementing many changes to increase patient safety- including transfusing blood and blood products, tracking and reporting of sample collection errors, and devising solutions to the errors. Genetics in Medicine and Transfusion are among the many peer journals which have published her work. She is also a member of AABB’s Transfusion Transmitted Bacterial Contamination Work Group, AABB’s Clinical Transfusion Medicine Committee, and the College of American Pathologists.
