Ortho Clinical Diagnostics (Nasdaq: OCDX), one of the world’s largest pure-play in vitro diagnostics companies dedicated to transforming patient care, was recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Best Mid-Sized Employers for the second time. Ortho ranked No. 1 in the Health Care Equipment & Services category and No. 20 Of the 500 mid-size companies on the list.
“We are proud to have once again been named by Forbes as one of America’s Best Mid-Sized Employers,” said Gary Passman, head of Global People & Culture, Ortho Clinical Diagnostics. “This year’s recognition is particularly special as it provides testament to our team’s resiliency and commitment to our customers and their patients during the COVID-19 pandemic. We came together as “One Ortho” and were able to leverage this amazing spirit of collaboration to be part of the COVID-19 solution across all teams and regions.”
Those companies recognized were chosen based on a survey of 50,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 1,000 employees. Survey participants were asked to rate their willingness to recommend their own employer to friends and family, and to nominate organizations other than their own. The final list ranks the 500 large and 500 midsize employers that received the most recommendations.
Ortho’s teammates are deeply connected and aligned to the company’s mission: to improve and save lives through diagnostics. In 2020, Ortho introduced its new credo, Because Every Test is a Life,™ and “One Ortho,” an internal philosophy designed to inspire Ortho’s workforce of approximately 4,500 employees to collaborate for the good of its customers and the 800,000 patients Ortho serves daily.
The team’s commitment to its customers and patients was never more clear than over the past year, as its lab customers battled the COVID-19 pandemic. Early on, when the world was still just beginning to understand the impact of the coronavirus, Ortho’s customer-focused teammates across functions and across the globe worked diligently to ensure delivery of products so customers were able to continue supporting their patients.
Ortho branded the traditional Human Resources function as “Global People & Culture” to reinforce that its people are the most important asset. Across the world, Ortho’s People & Culture teams work to instill a sense of inclusivity, collaboration and ownership through its philosophy that every Ortho teammate plays a key role in impacting patient lives.
